Construction Photos

Photos taken during initial construction of Eagle Rock Observatory

The rear shutter segment seen from the inside of the dome. The shutter drive motor assembly is visible at the right, and a pulley assembly at the top left of the shutter segment. The rectangular slot in the rear shutter segment captures a latch on the top shutter than holds the three shutter segments firmly together when closed. Painters tape was used liberally to mark mounting locations and parts orientations before and during assembly.
